Have you ever had a banana peanut butter sandwich (An open face sandwich is seen here.), or even just a banana and peanut butter anything? It's one of my special treats I like to make (and eat!) every now and then. You can sprinkle on some chocolate shavings or drizzle on some honey for an alternative flavor. Try it out sometime.

Wow, this is great news and it will allow me to potentially update more often! Unfortunately, not being an iPad app, there are still limitations on convenience. Let's see how it goes. If you like the Chai Latte, here's an interesting variation that'll stimulate your taste buds. It's known as a "Dirty Chai." Adding a shot or two of espresso is what makes it "dirty," and I think it's best iced and with soy milk. So you could call it an Iced Soy Dirty Chai. Give it a try! It could become your favorite beverage of the summer. Finally, a new post! You know what? I think I will now intentionally update about every few months or so. Then if I update more often than that, it'll be like a bonus update!
Quite alot has been happening since my last post. Recently, I went to see an old traditional Japanese house in Ome. It was pretty interesting. The images should enlarge if you click on 'em. We also visited a cozy German-themed cafe. Doesn't that cake look scrumptious? Hey I've been gone for way too long and it's time to get back to blogging. I have big dreams, but I really need to kick my butt more consistently in order to get things done. The message below inspired me to work harder.
"Get more involved. If you feel you lack certain qualities, and you feel you want to get involved in this and that then start. It's not too late. It's up to you. We can do anything. It is your commitment that is in question here." And now for a full out photo update from Christmas until now! (Click or scan over the photos to read the descriptions.) So I just experienced my first Halloween in Japan, which lasted for the entire weekend. To start off the excitement, I entertained hundreds of little kids at a country side kindergarten for a day. I felt like Mickey Mouse. Below is a photo from Rabbit Hole, a cool English conversation cafe. So, little kids know the word Halloween and the older kids like the costume parties, but how about trick-or-treating? I have yet to find out about that. Here's some ingenious ideas for Halloween party snacks: #1 Mochi Eyeballs Dab a little black sesame paste on a ball of sticky white mochi to make the most delicious eyeballs you've ever eaten! #2 Jack-o-lantern Onigiri Somehow, you make the rice orange like a pumpkin. Cut out the shapes of eyes and mouths to wrap everything into a cute or scary jack-o-lantern! For several months now, I've been going to a local international association where Japanese volunteers teach English. Now I'm going every week to offer my English-speaking expertise for a group of Japanese. 楽しいかったです。 After interviewing me in pairs in order to gather together basic information of what I like and where I came from, the students had to repeat what they had learned, improving their abilities to introduce other people. One of the staff gave us a container of jumbo-sized wafer straws filled with matcha cream. おいしいかったです。 After class I read over and edited an announcement that will be sent out later. And as I was leaving I found out a group of Japanese ladies were waiting by the elevator to offer me lunch at a local sushi restaurant. What a nice surprise, and my schedule was totally open. We mainly spoke in English (which was very, very basic) but I was able to squeeze in several Japanese words and phrases here and there as well. So I was browsing around in the language section of a bookstore and came across an interesting book. I enjoyed reading the riddles and learning about the wordplay used in them. I'll share several of them with you. See if you can understand the jokes.
